BLACKSBURG, Virginia (BP) -- With the recent victory over Thunder Bay, Blacksburg has moved itself one step closer to being in the playoffs. This week the Ballers face off against the Sudbury Spurs who are currently 7-5 and hold the 8th and final spot in the playoffs. However Sudbury has lost 2 of its last 3 and faces a tough opposition this afternoon.
"We don't want to underestimate any team," Said QB Khari Jones. "We just want to go out and execute like we did last week."
The Ballers face on of the most menacing pass defenses in the league only allowing 7 TD's while also picking off 13 passes. In addition they have hurried the QB 44 times and kept opponents under 180 yds through the air.
"We realize that Sudbury has the capabilities to stop anyone in the league," Said offensive coordinator rbetesta. "As a team though the key to beating these guys is getting off the routes faster than they can and managing to get that extra half a yard for a 1st down and keeping drives alive."
The Ballers will be coming into this game 6-6 and Sudbury at 7-5. The Ballers could conceivably jump into the playoffs with a win and losses by Thunder Bay, Yukon, and Mt. Oread.
