SAN FRANCISCO (BP) --The Ballers posted their second straight blowout with a 49-0 win over the San Francisco Sucka Free's. The Ballers beat the Sucka Free's decisively on both sides of the ball, producing an excellent defensive and offensive attack.
"We really just dominated today and showed whose boss," DE Speed McLovin said who was busy wrecking havok with 1 sack, 1 hurry, 1 fumble recovery, 1 pass defended, and 1 tackle for loss. "The whole defense just came together, played well, and executed. It's great when you have games like this that boost team morale and help take the pressure off."
The Ballers certainly had no pressure to deal with. They held the Sucka Free's to 100.5 total yards offensively. And forced them into 14 punts.
"We just made stops and converted plays we needed to," DE Graz (EDIT: ) Manius said. "The whole front 4 did a great job and stopped the opposition right in their tracks."
The Ballers offense faired just as well.
Khari Jones threw for 269.5 yds and 2 TD's to Kellen Edwards. In addition to the potent passing attack, the Ballers made use of their depth at RB. Alex Casino and Dan Etheridge had 4 TD's and 98.5 yds between the 2 of them.
"It was a great job by the offensive line and holes just developed," RB Alex Casino said. "It was really easy for us to pick our spots with how weak the other team was and how well we executed."
The offensive line was in fact a major reason for Blacksburg's success. Double digit pancake numbers for 4 of the top offensive lineman, highlighted Blacksburg's dominance in the trenches.
"We just came out of our stance ready and pushed the other guys backwards," OT Fatty McMuffin said. "All of the guys on the line prepared well for the game and just worked together as a unit."
Next week the Ballers will face the Phoenixville Kings who come into the matchup at 5-5. The Kings match up very well with the Ballers and scored a staggering 146 points against the Strathmore Devils. The Ballers should have their hands full with a very formidable and talented team.
*This week's game ball goes to the entire offensive line. You guys did a phenomenal job paving the way for 5 rushing TD's and knocking the opponents on their back every play. Great wins guys and let's do it again next week!*
