BLACKSBURG (BP) -- After 60 minutes of hard fought football, the Blacksburg Ballers once again reiterated why they are number one in the Canadian AAA #2. A 40-0 thrashing of the Ottawa Chiefs kept the Ballers hopes alive for a shot at perfection.
"It's surreal at this point," QB Khari Jones said who broke his streak of 0 passing touchdowns in the past 2 weeks, with a 347.5 yd 2 TD performance today. "The team is coming together and everything is clicking. But we still need to stay focused for our game next week and the playoffs."
The Ballers certainly stayed focused today. They amassed 484.5 yds of total offense and held the Chiefs to 112.5 yds. The Ballers were also able to dominate the line of scrimmage and OT Fatty McMuffin added 5 pancakes to lead the offensive line.
"We paved the way for Jesse and just kept Khari on his feet," McMuffin said who is looking to go to his first Pro Bowl as a Baller. "I'm happy that everything is going well for us and I think we'll carry this momentum for next week's game and the playoffs."
The Ballers will look to complete their perfect season next week against the Vancouver Darksiders in their only game against an Eastern conference opponent. The Darksiders have lost 7 straight games and are under new ownership so the Ballers should have an easier time against them.
