Earlier today, the Ballers reached negotiations with the Yorkshire Rippers who picked up Lawrence Julius Taylor and Slasher Evans at the end of the last season to bring Lawrence Julius Taylor back to Blacksburg. Following the acquisitions of Rhys Clennon and Joe Gott, the Ballers overstacked corner position looked like it was ready to overflow while the linebacker position was having a slight drought. All that was solved when the Ballers sent corner Johnathan Evans to the Rippers in exchange for LJT.
Evans had a solid season in Blacksburg picking up 2 interceptions and 15 deflections. In season 3, LJT recorded 27 tackles and a forced fumble in the Ballers third season in which they won the conference championship going 16-0 in the regular season. LJT had an excellent 4th season with 71 tackles, a sack, 17 deflections and a forced fumble. Taylor is going to be looking to improve on those numbers as he enters his first season in the Canada Pro League.
In other news, the Ballers picked up Guard Topher Scott from the Golden State Gorillas. Scott has played the last 4 seasons with the Gorillas including their season 2 USA A #2 League Championship run. Scott recorded 227 pancakes during this period and was a dominant force on their o-line.
